Set within the legendary gardens of Villa Cimbrone, overlooking the Amalfi Coast, Kathy and Heerad’s wedding was an elegant fusion of Italian romance and Persian tradition. From the intimate getting-ready moments to the Sofreh Aghd ceremony, candlelit dinner in the historic Crypt, and an energetic garden party under the stars, every part of the celebration was designed to feel deeply personal while embracing the extraordinary beauty of Ravello.
The day began quietly in the Studio Suite at Villa Cimbrone, where Kathy prepared surrounded by her bridesmaids and closest friends. Hair and makeup transformed the bridal suite into a peaceful space filled with anticipation, laughter, and champagne.
The groom, Heerad, prepared separately with his father, best man, and groomsmen. Their getting-ready photographs captured the camaraderie of the group, including gifts exchanged between the groom and his closest friends and a celebratory whiskey toast before the ceremony.
One of the most meaningful moments of the afternoon was the First Look in the Cloister. Away from the guests, Kathy and Heerad had the opportunity to see each other for the first time and share a private moment before the ceremony.
The ceremony took place in the spectacular Garden of the Two Fountains, where a sophisticated floral design transformed the historic setting into an elegant Persian-inspired garden. A floral arch framed the ceremony, while lush greenery lined the aisle and delicate flowers decorated the Sofreh Aghd table. Champagne-toned linens, candlelight, gold accents, and the couple’s carefully curated Persian ceremonial elements created a beautiful dialogue between Italian surroundings and Persian heritage.
At the heart of the ceremony was the Sofreh Aghd, an important Persian wedding tradition representing blessings and wishes for the couple’s life together. The ceremonial table incorporated an array of symbolic elements, including decorated nuts, spices, sweets, honey, a mirror and other traditional objects. Each detail carried meaning, turning the ceremony design into something much more than decoration.
After the ceremony, guests gathered for family before moving toward the Belvedere Terrace for cocktail hour. A string quartet provided the soundtrack, performing a mix of recognizable modern songs and timeless favorites while guests enjoyed an abundant selection of Italian-inspired aperitivi, prosecco, and cocktails.
A Polaroid station and guest book invited friends and family to leave photographs and personal messages for the newlyweds, adding a playful and spontaneous element to the cocktail experience. Meanwhile, Kathy and Heerad explored the gardens with their photographers, taking advantage of the extraordinary viewpoints and architectural details of Villa Cimbrone for their couple portraits.
As evening fell, the celebration moved into the Crypt of Villa Cimbrone, an atmospheric historic space transformed into an intimate candlelit dining room. Long tables were dressed in soft glicine-colored satin napkins, cream chargers, gold cutlery, and crystal glassware with golden rims. Beautifully arranged foral centerpieces alternated with dozens of taper candles, creating a warm and sophisticated tablescape against the ancient stone architecture.
The final part of the celebration returned to the gardens, where the atmosphere shifted from elegant dinner to a lively after-dinner party under the stars.
Kathy and Heerad’s wedding was ultimately a celebration of two cultures, two families and one shared story. The grandeur of Villa Cimbrone provided the Italian setting, while the Sofreh Aghd and Persian traditions brought layers of symbolism and heritage to the day.
