A Spring-Inspired Wedding with Fresh Colors and Butterflies

Perched above the Amalfi Coast, surrounded by gardens and sweeping sea views, Villa Eva provided the perfect setting for Andrew and Chantal’s romantic destination wedding.

From the very beginning, the couple envisioned a palette of pastel colors, creating a romantic interpretation of the Amalfi Coast that felt both fresh and timeless.

The ceremony took place on the Belvedere Terrace, where the sea became the natural backdrop. White wrought-iron chairs were arranged in gentle rows facing the view, while an asymmetrical floral arch framed the altar. Floral arrangements lined the aisle, and cones filled with petals were prepared for guests to shower the newlyweds after the ceremony.

Music was an important part of the celebration from the very beginning. A violin, cello and keyboard trio accompanied the ceremony, creating an elegant soundtrack that moved effortlessly between romantic and joyful. Andrew entered to Perfect by Ed Sheeran, while Chantal walked down the aisle to Taylor Swift’s Love Story.

The symbolic ceremony included a particularly beautiful unity ritual: the release of butterflies, symbol of abundance and wishes that become true. As the couple began this new chapter together, the delicate butterflies added a sense of magic to the ceremony, flying through the gardens against the backdrop of the Mediterranean.

The newlyweds celebrated with their guests into the garden for cocktails. An ice cream cart offered a playful finale to the cocktail hour, with flavors including chocolate, pistachio, tiramisu, lemon and strawberry.

The couple wandered through the more secluded corners of Villa Eva, taking a moment away from the celebration to simply enjoy being newlyweds. Surrounded by greenery and the Mediterranean landscape, these portraits captured the relaxed, intimate side of their wedding day.

Dinner took place inside the elegant marquee covered by scented flowers. The tablescape brought together blue and white chargers, blue glassware, soft glicine napkins, crystal chandeliers and abundant candlelight. Guests then enjoyed spaghetti Nerano style, homemade ravioli filled with buffalo ricotta and zucchini in a citrus sauce, followed by either beef fillet in a bread crust with aromatic herbs and ratatouille or chicken roulade with bacon, sage and lemon.

The dinner also became a moment to celebrate the couple through words. Heartfelt speeches were shared by the members of the wedding party. Each speech added another perspective to Andrew and Chantals’s story, filling the evening with laughter, affection and the kind of personal memories that make a wedding truly unforgettable.

Instead of a traditional guestbook, Andrew and Chantal chose a more unexpected and personal way to preserve their guests’ wishes: a vintage telephonE. Throughout the evening, friends and family could pick up the receiver and leave a recorded message for the newlyweds—words of love, laughter, advice and heartfelt wishes to discover and listen to long after the wedding day.

Later, the celebration moved outdoors for the cake cutting beneath the columns of Villa Eva. The three-tier white wedding cake was decorated with flowers and filled with Chantilly cream and wild strawberries. Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran provided the soundtrack as the couple cut the cake together.

After the first dance in the garden, the celebration moved inside the villa for an energetic after-party, with a DJ playing a mix of pop favorites and slow love songs. T

Inspired by the sentiment of 1 Corinthians 13 – love is patient, love is kind – and songs such as If I Ain’t Got You and Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Andrew and Chantal’s wedding brought together everything they wanted their day to represent: romance, family, music and the beauty of Italy.
