Eloping in Amalfi Coast after Covid-19

The pandemic has forced many brides 2020 to the cancellation or postponement of their destination wedding in Italy, but now that the lockdown is over, how safe is to get married on the Amalfi Coast?

With the opening of international borders in Europe, traveling will get back to normal, although with a few more precautions. Luxury hotels, splendid exclusive villas, terraces overlooking the sea and other gorgeous wedding venues on the Amalfi Coast are also reopening after the quarantine due to the corona virus, and wedding planners, Fine Art photographers, celebrants and wedding vendors are ready to get work, planning and curating civil and symbolic ceremonies in breathtaking locations.

As a wedding planner in Amalfi Coast, it is clear that this will be the year of elopements and mini weddings, with celebrations with an average of 10-20 guests, an ideal solution for couples who dream about an intimate wedding weekend that is also a honeymoon and a family vacation!

The Amalfi Coast hosts many events of this type every year: there are many sea-view villas overlooking the bay of Positano and 5-stars hotels with lush gardens in Ravello or Amalfi, that you can rent for exclusive use for an unforgettable wedding day.

Getting married abroad after the lockdown is not a madness!

Elopements and mini weddings can be easily planned even on short notice, and since many weddings have been postponed in the last few months, you can easily find availability at the venue of your dreams even in the normally most requested period.

The advantage of staying on the Amalfi Coast in summer 2020 is you can have it all to yourself, so you and your guests can enjoy the most authentic side of the place and explore one of the most popular and charming site in the world quietly!

Eloping safely: the anti-covid rules for the wedding

Recently the New York Times has indicated Italy as one of the safest places for post-covid holidays. The country has managed the emergency well and approved a series of anti-coronavirus regulations in order to avoid a second wave of infections.

As for the wedding, here are the main rules in force in the Campania region:

1 – The couple and the celebrant are not obliged to wear a mask, but must keep a distance of one meter during the rite

2 – The tables must be spaced 1 meter apart

3 – Guests must be divided, at the table, by family unit

4 – Where it’s possible, opt for an open space for the dinner. This rule is easily put into practice in Amalfi Coast, since all venues are equipped for outdoor events in order to allow guests to enjoy the view

5 – Spaces will be sanitized as indicated for the catering categories by the relative ordinance

6 – Buffet is not allowed

7 – Body temperature will be detected at the entrance to the guest, preventing the access in case of a temperature > 37.5 ° C

8 – Guests can remove the mask when are sitting at the table or in the outdoor areas. Once again, the venues in Amalfi Coast, especially those have large open spaces, will be more flexible about the use of masks, since from 22th June the obligation is only for indoor spaces

9 – disco parties are not allowed: for now, you can have musical entertainment but not dancings

The above rules are an easily implemented precaution and do not compromise the success of your event. If you still have any doubts let me give you some data about the impact of the virus on the Amalfi Coast:

In Amalfi Coast and Capri there have been few cases, all people coming from Northern Italy, immediately isolated. The population has showed a great civic sense, respecting the lockdown for its entire duration, 3 months. At the moment there are no active positive cases and the Amalfi Coast is completely Covid-Free.

Shops, restaurants, bars, museums and beaches are open again, and between mid-June and early July most of the accommodation facilities and wedding venues will reopen. It is possible to move freely within the nation and from 15th June the borders for the other states of the European Union and for the countries of the Schegen area are open, with no obligation to quarantine on arrival.
